    Position Description

    The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the HR department and assists with various HR functions of an organization.

    Qualifications

    1. High school diploma, a bachelor’s degree in human resources management or business management, or at least four years’ experience with the organization.

    2. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    3. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

    4. Exceptional organizing, time-management, and detail-oriented skills.

    5. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.

    6. Administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the agency's strategic goals.

    7. Ability to deliver quality work in an ever-changing, fast-paced, work environment.

    8. Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and be energetic.

    9. Pass a criminal background check (FBI, DOJ, and Child Abuse), TB test, physical exam, and drug test.

    10. Must be 21 years of age.

    11. Current CPR and First Aid certificates.

    12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    13. The ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

    14. The ability to author professional emails, letters, reports, and other materials.

    15. The ability to utilize, demonstrate, and convey proper phone etiquette.

    16. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    17. Documentation of the required education and experience, an age affidavit, and a confidential form shall be maintained in the personnel file.

    Examples of Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the agency's strategic goals.

    2. Collaborates in developing the agency goals, objectives, and systems.

    3. Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.

    4. Compile and update staff records (hard and soft copies).

    5. Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (i.e., staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and performance evaluations).

    6. Schedule and facilitate staff training.

    7. Respond to staff inquiries on HR issues, rules, and regulations.

    8. Verify pertinent staff information to assist with payroll preparation. (e.g., timecards, verification of absences, bonus, etc.).

    9. Assists with tracking departmental and company measurements that support accomplishing the company's strategic goals.

    10. Attend staff meetings and training.

    11. Support in preparing and managing employee actions and other official documents related to performance evaluations, reassignment, suspension, resignation, retirement, and surveys.

    Other duties as assigned.
