Providence Staffing’s client, prestigious law firm in Providence, RI, is seeking a Human Resources Director to lead and oversee all aspects of its HR operations. This position is critical to fostering a dynamic workplace culture while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of HR functions, and the ability to align HR strategies with the firm’s organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the firm’s mission, values, and goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR-related matters, including talent acquisition, employee relations, and retention strategies.
- Lead workforce planning efforts to meet current and future staffing needs.
- Talent Acquisition and Management
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and integration processes to attract and retain top legal and administrative talent.
- Develop career development programs, mentorship opportunities, and training initiatives to support employee growth.
- Lead performance management processes, including goal-setting, evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.
- Employee Relations and Engagement
- Cultivate a positive workplace culture that promotes diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement.
- Mediate employee conflicts and provide guidance on sensitive HR matters.
- Develop and implement programs to enhance employee well-being and satisfaction.
- HR Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as industry-specific regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and oversee HR audits as necessary.
- Lead investigations related to workplace complaints, ethics, or policy violations.
- Compensation and Benefits
- Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
- Partner with external vendors to oversee benefits administration, including enrollment, claims, and inquiries.
- Policy Development and Implementation
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and alignment with the firm’s objectives.
- Communicate policy changes effectively to all employees.
- HR Metrics and Reporting
- Analyze HR data and metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Additional Duties
- Represent the firm in HR-related external engagements, such as community outreach or networking events.
- Lead special projects or initiatives as directed by firm leadership.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in a senior HR role, preferably within the legal or professional services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and regulatory requirements in Rhode Island.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and foster collaboration.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
