    Company Overview: We are a busy and growing manufactured housing community company based in Sussex County, NJ, seeking an experienced HR Specialist to oversee all aspects of human resource management across three communities. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key player in shaping the company's workforce and fostering a positive work culture.     Position Overview: The HR Specialist will be responsible for managing human resources practices and processes for our communities. You will be the go-to person for all employee-related matters, ensuring that policies, procedures, and employee relations are aligned with the company's goals. Your role will be integral in ensuring compliance with legal requirements and driving the success of our business through effective human resource management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Oversee staffing and on-boarding processes, ensuring smooth and effective new hire integration

    Develop and implement HR strategies that align with our business objectives

    Track employee performance and manage the performance appraisal system

    Handle workers' compensation (WC) claims and audits

    Manage termination policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all laws

    Address employee grievances and mediate any conflicts between management and staff

    Promote a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment

    Manage employee benefits coordination and assist with enrollment

    Develop and maintain the company’s HR handbook

    Provide management with HR metrics and support decision-making

    Assess training needs and oversee the development and implementation of training programs

    Ensure legal compliance across HR policies and procedures, including NJ, NY, and SC laws

    Foster leadership development across teams

    Skills & Qualifications:

    Proven experience as an HR Specialist, with a strong understanding of HR best practices

    In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR guidelines in NJ, NY, and SC

    Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Excellent telephone demeanor and interpersonal skills

    Advanced computer proficiency, including experience with ADP Run Payroll platform, Google Suite, and MS Office (Docs, Excel)

    Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines

    Strong active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

    Degree in Human Resources or related field

    People-oriented, results-driven with the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships

    Experience in managing and developing talent and leadership

    Work Schedule: Part-time hours to start
