    Job Brief

    The HR Generalist will assist the Human Resources Manager and the Director of Human Resources with strategic and hands-on support in the areas of benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and onboarding.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
    • Responds to benefits inquiries from all personnel on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
    • Assists with planning and coordinating Firm events.
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to HR Manager and/or HR Director.
    • Supports HR Director with coordination of annual staff and attorney performance review process and maintain the evaluation database.
    • Assists with learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities.
    • Assists with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.Maintains HRIS onboarding module and facilitate the onboarding process for new huhires.
    • Initiates background checks and conducts employee eligibility verifications.
    • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
    • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
    • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
    • Schedules interviews; oversees the preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.


    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in an HR position required experience in a legal environment a plus.
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficiency with HRIS systems; knowledge of UKG a plus.
    • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through completion.
    • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
    • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
