Your Role
As a Human Resource Assistant , you'll support the daily functions of our HR department and contribute to a smooth, positive experience for both current and future team members. Here's how you'll make an impact:
- Administrative Support – Provide general clerical support including data entry, filing, and document prep
- Maintain Employee Records – Keep HR files organized, accurate, and confidential
- Payroll Management – Lead payroll processing by entering new hire data and updating pay changes
- Benefits Administration – Oversee benefit enrollments and updates, working closely with our benefits broker
- Recruiting Support – Assist with sourcing candidates and representing JHA at career fairs and recruiting events
- Onboarding Coordination – Help new hires feel welcome with a well-organized and smooth onboarding experience
- Performance Review Scheduling – Track evaluation timelines, prepare review materials, and coordinate meetings
- Employee Engagement – Plan and support internal events, recognition programs, and company-wide initiatives
- General HR Support – Assist with additional HR projects and day-to-day department operations as needed
What We're Looking For
- An Associate's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Prior office or HR experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn HRIS/payroll software
