    HR Coordinator

    About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our expanding team at the Illinois Hammer Injury Law Firm. This role is crucial in supporting our HR department's daily operations and ensuring the smooth execution of HR processes. The HR Coordinator will report directly to the Human Resources Manager (HRM) and will serve as a backup to the HR Generalist.

    Position Overview: As an HR Coordinator, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including administrative/ office duties, event coordination, policy updating, and day-to-day office tasks. You will play a key role in maintaining efficient HR operations and supporting the overall goals of the HR department. This position requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Responsibilities:

    • Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate company events, including team-building activities, training sessions, and other HR-related events. Ensure all events are well-organized and executed smoothly.
    • Policy Updating: Assist in the development and updating of HR policies and procedures. Ensure that all policies are current and compliant with legal standards. Communicate policy changes to staff effectively.
    • Day-to-Day Office Tasks: Handle daily administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, processing HR documents, and managing HR-related inquiries. Ensure the office runs efficiently and all HR tasks are completed in a timely manner.
    • HR Generalist Backup: Provide support to the HR Generalist in their duties, including recruitment, onboarding, and time clock monitoring. Step in to cover the HR Generalist's responsibilities as needed.
    • Assisting HRM in Confidential HR Tasks and Duties: Assist the HRM with confidential HR tasks and duties, ensuring discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in HR or an HR degree with 2 years of experience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, and Canva. Strongly Preferred.
    • Design/graphic design skills are a plus.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Bilingual in Spanish or French preferred but not required.

    Schedule:

    • Fully in-office schedule initially
    • Transition to 4 days in-office/1 day remote after 6 months
    • In office schedule created and improved by the HR Manager

    Pay:

    • $50k annually
