Position Overview:
The HR Coordinator will manage end-to-end payroll processing, HRIS management, compliance, and employee data management. This key role is essential to ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance with labor laws, and the accurate and timely processing of payroll, benefits, and other HR-related functions. As part of the HR team, you will also drive process improvements that enhance HR efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing and Time Keeping:
- Lead the charge in managing the complete payroll cycle, ensuring every employee gets paid accurately and on time, including wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
- Stay on top of federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure full compliance, and become the go-to expert for all things payroll!
- Work side-by-side with managers to resolve any discrepancies and ensure employee hours and compensation are recorded perfectly.
- Be the friendly and reliable point of contact for all payroll-related questions—help employees with pay discrepancies, tax inquiries, and deductions, while providing top-notch customer service.
HRIS Management:
- Keep things running like a well-oiled machine by maintaining the HRIS.
- Take ownership of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), ensuring employee records are always up-to-date and accurate – processing personnel actions, documents.
- Be the bridge between employees and the HRIS, ensuring all personal data, tax withholdings, leave balances, and status changes are current and accurate.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure payroll processes are fully compliant with labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies—be the compliance champion!
- Prepare essential payroll reports, tax filings, and year-end documentation (W-2s, 1099s) for submission to the government with precision and accuracy.
- Work closely with HR and finance teams to provide timely, accurate data for audits, tax filings, and important financial reporting.
Employee Records and Data Management:
- Keep employee data safe and sound, adhering to the highest standards of confidentiality and data protection regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure everything is up to date, compliant with company policies, and legally sound.
- Safeguard and securely manage payroll-related documentation (tax forms, benefits elections, payroll reports), ensuring it's filed according to legal and company requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Applicants with experience encouraged to apply.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in HR, payroll, or operations, with a strong understanding of payroll processing and HRIS management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll software. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of payroll processing, labor laws, tax regulations, and employee benefits administration.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively resolve employee inquiries and collaborate with various teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and discrepancies and proactively resolve them with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with audit procedures and reconciliation in payroll systems.
- Certification in payroll processing or HR (e.g., CPP, PHR) is a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance standards, including federal and state payroll regulations.
