    Overview

    As a Human Resources Generalist, this individual will play a pivotal role in our organization, contributing to various Human Resources functions. Your responsibilities will include talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and ensuring Human Resources policies and procedures are consistently applied.

    Cedar Pine has an in-office work policy that requires three days per week onsite for this role.

    Responsibilities include:

    Talent Acquisition

    • Partner with hiring managers and leaders to develop and drive programs that optimize talent, structure, and culture alongside the Head of Human Resources.
    • Manage full cycle recruitment and interview process by targeted sourcing, screening, and selection tools (i.e., evaluation of employment firms, ATS platform(s), and job boards).
    • Conduct reference checks, review compensation recommendations, and extend offers.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
    • Capture and analyze recruiting metrics and develop other recruiting reports (i.e., time to hire, cost per search, acceptance percentage, etc.).
    • Remain abreast of talent trends that are applicable to the company’s business objectives.
    • Analyze market conditions in Chicago.
    • Coordinate and implement university/college recruiting initiatives.
    • Manage all recruiting-related social media efforts.

    Employee Engagement

    • Oversee the enhancement and maintenance of the new hire orientation process.
    • Support the performance management process (i.e., employee goal-setting, career development, and professional development tools).
    • Work alongside the Head of Human Resources on performance management by identifying training needs and programs.
    • Serve as a resource to address employee performance issues and work with hiring managers on improvement plans.
    • Identify gaps and propose changes necessary.

    Generalist-Related Tasks

    • Be the subject matter expert for the company’s HCM, ATS, and performance management platforms.
    • Responsible for benefits administration and renewal responsibilities.
    • Prepare and deliver people metrics (i.e., turnover costs, performance trends).
    • Develop and improve the Human Resources processes and policies.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required with a preferred concentration in Human Resources Management.
    • A minimum of five years of generalist Human Resources experience.
    • Self-motivated individual eager to learn and able to pair with and contribute to a strong team.
    • Top-tier financial modeling ability and presentation compilation skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, intellectually curious, collaborative, and consistent ownership of work product.
    • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
    • Exceptional Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills and familiarity with standard HCM and financial databases.
