Position Description:
Ready to kickstart your career in HR? Come join our growing HR team! The HR Generalist will run the daily administrative functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including, but not limited to, payroll, benefits administration, leave administration, enforcing company policies and practices.
Reports to: Director of People & Culture, Common House
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Processes payroll for all Common House locations while handling communication and completion of garnishment summons, liens, and child support summons.
- Monitors timesheets and tips in timekeeping software for accuracy and completion.
- Tracking and entry of PTO/Sick Time/Reserve Leave, etc.
- FMLA/LOA administration. .
- Generates internal communications such as offer letters, memos, salary increase letters, promotions, etc.
- Maintains electronic employee personnel files.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
- First point of contact for employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Manages and administers Workers Compensation for employees completing paperwork and filing claims.
- Administers benefits and manages all communication and coordination of annual Open Enrollment.
- Assist in 401k administration and employee inquiries.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Promote a positive and open working environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about their concerns.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- At least one year of Human Resource experience is preferred.
- SHRM-CP a plus, but not required.
- ADP experience a plus, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
