    How will you contribute:

    The HR Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of human resources tasks to support the HR department and ensure the smooth operation of HR processes. This role involves handling recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The HR Generalist plays a key role in maintaining a positive work environment and supporting employee development and satisfaction.

    Recruitment

    • Develop and maintain a network of relationships to help identify and source qualified candidates.
    • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and industry organizations (ABC WI, Universities, High Schools, etc.)
    • Attend career fairs and networking events to attract top talent.
    • Manage youth apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs.
    • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
    • Communicate effectively with candidates, providing timely updates and feedback.
    • Create and place advertisements for open positions, using various methods including job boards, social media, career fairs, and employee referrals.
    • Conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidates' qualifications and fitness for the role.
    • Participate in interviews and provide feedback to hiring managers.
    • Track and report on key recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and source of hire.
    • Use data to identify areas for improvement in the recruitment process.
    • Maintain accurate and organized documentation on all candidates, searches, and hiring processes.
    • Ensure all recruitment activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.

    Onboarding

    • Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding programs to welcome new employees and ensure a smooth transition.
    • Conduct orientation sessions and coordinate necessary training.
    • Complete and maintain compliance with I9 and E-Verify requirements.

    Benefits Administration:

    • Assist employees with benefits inquiries and issues.
    • Ensure COBRA compliance in employee hiring and termination.
    • Participate in the ESOP Committee as the administration staff.
    • Support in open enrollment meetings and distribution of benefits.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
    • Ensure compliance with all leave administration (FMLA, STD, LTD, PLOA, etc).

    Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

    Policy Implementation:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
    • Communicate and ensure adherence to company policies.

    Employer Branding:

    • Promote the organization's brand as an employer of choice.

    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the organization's reputation in the job market.

    • Brainstorm fresh advertising and improvement ideas with leadership.

    • Create and maintain company apparel store bi-annually for employees to purchase attire.

    • Order and maintain marketing/promotional items.

    • Publish and distribute Employee Quarterly Newsletter.

    • Create marketing documents for career fairs, social media, networking events, and PR.

    • Support company efforts to improve brand consistency and awareness.

    What you need to qualify:

    Ideal candidate will have Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience. Candidates should have the ability to multitask and be a self-starter. You can stand out above other candidates by having construction knowledge and/or bilingual (Spanish).
