LandSouth Construction is a leading multifamily general contractor headquartered in Jacksonville, FL with operations throughout the Southeast. We're currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our award-winning team!
Please note that this role is fully onsite: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Our office is located near the Mayo Clinic off of San Pablo Rd (32224).
_ Job Summary_
The Human Resources Generalist supports and facilitates key human resource (HR) functions and programs. The position serves as the initial point of contact for all internal HR matters and ensures positive employee relations. The role is involved with company-wide strategic functions as well as tactical/administrative responsibilities that include record-keeping, system maintenance, HRIS data entry, and auditing.
_ Responsibilities_
- Maintain employee personnel records.
- Implement and manage human resources programs, including employment processing and onboarding, health and welfare benefits, leave of absence, records management, employee relations and retention, compliance, and personnel transactions.
- Process employee changes, including promotions, position and location changes, changes to compensation and benefits, and temporary employee housing.
- Provide front-end support for employee relations concerns, leave and benefit inquiries, worker’s compensation support, and other employee-related concerns as needed.
- Conduct compliance audits, including I-9 audits, employee file audits, and employment poster audits; and assist with other compliance-related audits.
- Assist with payroll processing, including periodic audits of allotments and reimbursements.
- Monitor employee PTO usage to ensure employees are utilizing their PTO allotment annually.
- Manage new hire benefit enrollment process and online enrollment. Answer employee benefit inquiries and ensure the accuracy of employee enrollment.
- Coordinate open enrollment, changes, and training for employee benefits, including monitoring the adoption of non-traditional benefits and creating and executing plans to increase adoption when needed.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Process resignations and terminations, including system access controls, conducting exit interviews, and ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Develop forms and procedures, and implement software to support HR functions as requested.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Oversee EEOC reporting in accordance with timeline and requirements.
- Manage and respond to Unemployment Claims.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries in the HR inbox.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of Human Resources experience.
- Experience handling FMLA and ADA requests.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and resolve employees’ concerns.
- Familiarity with HRIS administration and implementation.
