We are partnering with a stable and growing health and wellness company seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist serves as the administrator for critical human resources functions and workforce management under the direction of leadership. Key areas include employee/labor relations, recruiting, benefits, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, and employee records. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for all employees, helping the company enforce and maintain compliance with employment and payroll laws.
*This is a direct hire and onsite position in Irvine, CA.
Core Duties:
Supports the HR department and facilitates the communication of company policies and programs, ensuring adherence to labor laws and regulatory standards.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and providing guidance to ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Ensures the proper maintenance and updating of employee records, including personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, performance reviews, and termination information.
Verifies and maintains I-9 documentation to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Assists with the administration of employee benefits, including Workers’ Compensation, claims resolution, and reporting of changes.
Maintains the Human Resource Information System (Paychex Flex), produces required reports, and updates the company’s organizational charts and employee directory.
Generates regular reports on earnings, taxes, deductions, and maintains accurate records of leave pay and non-taxable wages.
Oversees the recruitment process, including job posting, resume review, interview scheduling, and conducting reference and background checks. Manages new employee documentation, supports the onboarding process, and handles employee termination.
Supports various HR programs, assists with special projects or research, and takes on additional tasks as required.
What we’re looking for:
3-4 years in HR roles, with exposure to various HR functions.
Comfortable and experienced in employee relations and investigations.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Collaboration with PEO services is a plus.
Strong understanding of HR laws, Federal & State regulations, and HR best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and HRIS software.
Strong emotional intelligence.
Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting documents, contracts, financial statements, data records, and legal materials.
