LOCATION: Schertz, TX
CONTEXT: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HR Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of human resources, including payroll, onboarding, compliance, and timekeeping. This role is critical in ensuring smooth HR operations and maintaining regulatory compliance, particularly with DOT and background screening requirements for drivers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Payroll Management: Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all wage and hour laws.
- Onboarding & Compliance: Conduct pre-employment screenings, including DOT and background checks, for new hires. Ensure all onboarding documentation is complete and compliant with federal, state, and company regulations.
- Timekeeping Support: Assist employees and supervisors with timecard management, ensuring accurate tracking of work hours and overtime.
- Employee Relations: Act as the primary HR contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and policy-related matters.
- HR Compliance & Recordkeeping: Maintain up-to-date employee records and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Benefits Administration: Support employees with benefits enrollment and provide assistance with any benefits-related questions.
- Training & Development: Assist in coordinating training programs to support employee growth and regulatory compliance.
- HR Strategy & Culture: Foster a positive workplace culture that aligns with company values and promotes employee engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in trucking/logistics, construction, or a related industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll and HR software. Experience with DOT regulations and compliance is a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
