  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Collaborates with senior leadership regarding the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
    • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
    • Assists in the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; staff performance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and staff training and development.
    • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and staff performance management.
    • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s performance management system.
    • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, performance management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to management.
    • Develops and implements departmental budget.
    • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for staff.
    • Develops and maintains HR policies, employee handbook, performance reviews, and employee files.
    • Oversees any employee relations issues for the Center including providing managers advice and counsel on any conflicts, discipline and termination situations.
    • Assists in the coordination of employee events aimed at boosting employee morale including pizza parties, holiday gatherings, etc.
    • Participates in the periodic review of center policies, procedures and processes that ensure consistent, efficient implementation of policies/regulations and legal requirements .
    • Creates a working environment that ensures the health, safety and welfare of staff and customers.
    • Ensures confidentiality within all areas of responsibility.
    • Performs additional duties as required.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
    • Five or more years of human relations experience in a related field such as public administration, business administration, human services or not for profit management preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Knowledge of social media and business technology used by employer business community and jobseekers preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organized, detail-oriented, and solid time management skills.
    • Demonstrated public speaking skills, including with elected officials and media personnel.
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver high level of customer service/satisfaction with both internal and external customers.
    • Must possess maturity, independence and confidence.

    Proven leadership skills to motivate, generate consensus and inspire action.

    Additional Information

    Annual salary for this position is $62,000.
