    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Location: Denver, CO

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 40 hours/week

    Compensation: $56,500-$62,000 per year, depending on experience

    Status: Full-time, salary exempt

    Work Model: Hybrid - on-site at least 50% time

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Executive Director, the Human Resources & Office Manager will be responsible for day-to-day human resources (HR) related activities and organizational operations and management.

    PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsibilities in Human Resources

    Manage payroll administration.

    Support all hiring activities including job postings, coordinating interviews, managing new hire paperwork, and onboarding new staff.

    Support the onboarding process of new staff including first day onboarding, and set them up with role-specific equipment and supplies.

    Manage seasonal youth employee hiring process.

    Ensure governmental compliance is up to date with employment and management practices and serve as the primary contact for HR compliance.

    Manage employee benefits and annual benefits package.

    Ensure personnel policies are up-to-date and compliant with applicable laws.

    Manage disciplinary matters including the documentation process, as well as investigations, meetings, and communications related to disciplinary matters, as needed.

    Responsibilities in Office Management

    Manage day-to-day needs related to the office space, including communication with building manager for maintenance; maintenance and organization of equipment and supply inventory; and management of daily office activities such as cleaning and recycling/trash.

    May include lifting up to 50 pounds, moving furniture, bending and stooping, or other physical activity. Reasonable accommodations can be provided if needed.

    Manage requirements related to insurance, public records, and other administration.

    Manage technology inventory including software renewals, online access, and coordination with IT contractor.

    Manage technology and vehicle initiatives.

    Manage day-to-day needs of organizational vehicles, including safety, scheduling, and maintenance.

    Update operations procedures as needed and incorporate safety measures.

    Responsible for managing phone calls and voicemails, ensuring that messages are relayed to the appropriate staff members.

    Responsible for receiving and opening all mail and distributing messages accordingly.

    Responsibilities as a member of the Groundwork Denver Team

    Participate in Groundwork Denver fundraising events and committee of choice.

    Contribute to a positive team and office culture, collaborating respectfully and productively with co-workers to achieve Groundwork Denver’s overall mission.

    If physical ability allows, participate in occasional opportunities with Groundwork Denver staff in fieldwork or volunteer activities when needed. Activities may include walking or hiking in natural areas and parks, picking up trash, planting trees, water sampling in rivers and streams, and other outdoor physical activity on a case-by-case basis.

    Attend all staff meetings and other program meetings as assigned by the Executive Director.

    Willingness to share in all duties of the non-profit office as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

    Passion for Groundwork Denver’s mission and alignment to our values and goals.

    At least 2 years of work history in human resources, talent management, office management, and/or equivalent experience.

    Understanding and/or curiosity about environmental issues and a commitment to continuous personal learning and growth.

    Those with experience working with populations that Groundwork Denver serves, or who have similar life experiences or backgrounds, will be prioritized. Individuals from communities that have been historically marginalized or under-represented in the environmental field are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Ability to utilize computer systems, manage phones, and travel to and from meetings and appointments in a timely fashion.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking System, Payroll System, etc.

    Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral; Spanish-language skills are preferred.

    Ability and willingness to drive Groundwork Denver’s 15-passenger van is required.

    Per Groundwork Denver’s insurance policy, vehicle(s) may only be operated by GWD authorized drivers who are at least 21 years old, possess a valid Colorado driver’s license, and have at least two years of driving experience.
