    iuvo is the CRO (Contract Research Organization) of choice for hundreds of ophthalmic clinical research projects - from device (implantable, surgical and diagnostic), to biotechnology and pharmaceutical. We have managed hundreds of ophthalmic clinical research projects ranging from single-site studies involving less than 100 subjects followed for one week to large, multi-center projects involving hundreds of subject eyes followed over the course of several years.

    We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Specialist to join the iuvo team!

    SUMMARY

    The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for executing human resources activities in the areas of talent acquisition, performance management, training, compliance, employment policies and programs, employee engagement, HRIS, compensation, and benefits. This role reports to the CEO and provides administrative support for a variety of other office activities beyond HR.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Talent Acquisition

    • Organize all aspects of the recruiting processes including interviewing, selection, reference/background checks, and offers of employment.
    • Ensure job descriptions are accurate and up to date.
    • Engage third-party recruitment partners and other external sources as necessary to support hiring efforts.
    • Onboard new hires to effectively orient new employees and support assimilation.

    Performance, Training

    • Manage the annual performance evaluation process.
    • Manage annual employee training as required.

    Compliance

    • Follow best practices to comply with applicable laws and regulations for recordkeeping, documentation, and all other employment policies.
    • Work with PEO to regularly review the company’s employee handbook, policies, job descriptions, and forms as appropriate to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.

    Employee Engagement

    • Administer employee recognition programs.
    • Administer employee engagement surveys.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Manage benefit broker and other vendor relationships for employee benefits and services.
    • Oversee the annual open enrollment process.
    • Process biweekly payroll.
    • Work with third-party administrators to reconcile health and retirement benefit plans.

    General Human Resources

    • Manage all aspects of HRIS, act as super user.
    • Support the separation of employment processes.
    • Perform all other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned.
    • Maintain employee files.
    • Maintain consultant files to include NDA, MSA and SOW.

    Other Administrative Support Activities

    • Maintain project-specific inventory for client projects as defined by Project scope(s) of work.
    • Perform site administrative duties including (but not limited to) ordering study consumable supplies or equipment, developing and maintaining appropriate inventory system, create Regulatory Binders and other documentation required by clinical sites, ship initial supplies / documentation to the clinical sites as well as manage resupply requests when required.
    • Manage company facility needs, moves, space planning.
    • Perform other admin support services as directed by the CEO.

    QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    A minimum of 2 to 4 years in an HR administration support role.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), proficiency utilizing HRIS and talent management systems is strongly preferred.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS

    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Writing skills should include the ability to write effective emails with excellent proofreading and grammar, punctuation, etc. Must have well-developed interpersonal communication skills. Able to customize communication style and approach depending on audience to develop effective working relationships. Must exhibit a high level of professionalism and emotional intelligence.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to perform basic calculations used in preparing payroll, compensation, benefit premiums, offers of employment, etc

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

    Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to take a proactive approach to work activities. Must possess excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills. Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively across all levels within the organization. Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality.
