    The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for driving an AWESOME krewe experience and preserving our innovative edge. Duties include proactive engagement and outstanding support for all members of the organization, promoting a collaborative culture, ensuring timely follow-up especially on total rewards, and maintaining the accuracy of benefit administration. Additionally, duties involve maintaining the day-today operations of the HR office, ranging from office administrative functions to front desk management, on-boarding and offboarding employees, file maintenance, and other administrative tasks and projects.

    The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to create a positive work environment, maintaining a positive attitude, remarkable interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm for helping others. Upon hiring, the candidate is expected to perform the role with minimum supervision, excellent follow-up, a detail-oriented mindset, and, of course, a knack for learning.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Open and close the office
    • Welcome guests, answer, and manage telephone calls
    • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and faxes
    • Perform HRIS data entry and maintain personnel files confidentially
    • Contribute to the office team shared responsibilities: ordering and restocking office as well as kitchen supplies, maintaining office appliances, managing the mailing and printer center
    • Review bi-weekly timecards and manage paycheck adjustments
    • Reconcile monthly benefit billing
    • Coordinate periodic lunch and learn sessions
    • Assist with new hire onboarding tasks (background screens, T-shirt distribution, parking management, key fobs)
    • Process new hires, promotions, and terminations in all applicable systems
    • Manage parking for employees and guests
    • Assist with HR policy and procedure inquiries
    • Support the Director of People, Culture & Training with HR projects and initiatives; maintain close coordination with the Administration Team, particularly the Controller

    IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
    • 1-2 years of experience in human resources or administrative services
    • Human Resources certification(s) preferred
    • Experience in HRIS, Applicant Tracking, and other company systems
    • Excellent customer service; verbal and written communication skills
