SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Assess and design hydraulic systems and flood control measures to support disaster recovery and resilience efforts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions for water management and infrastructure restoration.
- Conduct site inspections to evaluate hydraulic and water resource conditions, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage hydraulic project documentation and ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, including hydraulic calculations, modeling results, and design plans.
- Provide expert guidance on determination memorandums and appeals related to hydraulic engineering.
- Stay current with FEMA training requirements and emerging technologies in hydraulic engineering.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or
- Bachelor's Degree with 15 years of experience in a related field.
- Certification:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling and analysis software.
- Strong knowledge of water systems, flood control, and infrastructure engineering.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
