Job Description:
PIRTEK Glen Burnie is hiring a Mobile Hose Assembly & Installation Technician to service a diverse customer base across multiple industries and in varying environmental conditions. We are looking for applicants with excellent communication and strong customer service skills.
This is a messy job that requires manual labor and on-call hours (with on-call incentive pay), so dedication and grit are essential. Each Hose Assembly & Installation Technician is provided full training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes, safety standards, and how to operate your purpose-built mobile service unit. PIRTEK also provides support to our technicians through a 24/7 hotline. So, no matter when you are helping a customer, we are here to help you answer any of their technical questions.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to all Industry and PIRTEK safety standards
Maintain mobile units, tools, and equipment to company specifications
Carry out maintenance service calls & customer relationship visits in your local area
Identify faulty hoses and/or hose assemblies to support our customers and keep them operating
Remove worn or broken hoses before fabricating and installing the new replacement hoses and fittings
Clean up any oil spills or other environmental contaminants caused during the equipment repair and maintenance
Input accurate service details into the online database to create accurate records of the job ticket and invoice
Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues on-site and conducting frequent follow-up visits
Develop relationships with new and existing customers to maintain and expand the business
Participate in the rotating On-Call service schedule (with increased incentive pay)
Perform other related job duties as assigned
Work Environment:
You will be operating out of a PIRTEK Service and Supply Center in a purpose-built mobile unit. This mobile unit is outfitted with all the tools and machinery needed to service the local area. This vehicle will go home with you, so you can maximize your time off without the need to return the van after your assigned jobs are completed.
Territory-based service areas designed to minimize road time between jobs
Oil, grease, lubricant, hydraulic fluid, and other "messy" substances are frequently used
Service locations may differ in terrain, noise level, temperature, common amenities available, etc.
You may need to travel to the Florida US training center - travel and expenses paid by the company
Skill and Abilities Needed:
Mechanically inclined - consistent use of hand tools and specialized equipment is required
Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop from moderate to extended periods
Ability to work in and around heavy equipment and marine settings
Safely use both mobile and fixed ladders, step-ups, stairs, etc.
Can safely & lawfully drive and maintain a large work van
Self-motivated & positive attitude during difficult jobs
Able to work individually and as a part of a team
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to pass a background check
Driver's license with a clean driving record
Experience in at least one of the fields related to industrial development & construction, automobile/marine or field mechanics, materials recycling, mining & excavating, or heavy equipment maintenance
