    Job Summary:


    Under the direct supervision of the Hyperbaric Group Operations Manager, the Hyperbaric Mechanical & Electrical Technician performs a variety of tasks while reporting to and providing general HSD support for the Hyperbaric Services Department. The primary role of this position is to perform maintenance and repairs on Hyperbaric Saturation Systems.

    Education:

    · High school diploma or equivalent

    · Mechanical Engineering, Journeyman, HVAC, or technical trade school preferred

    Experience:

    · A minimum of three years’ experience working in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, electronic or mechanics

    · Experience with Compressors, Gauges, Air Sensors, and Pumps

    · Breathing Media & Pneumatic systems experience


    Responsibilities:

    · Compressed Chamber Maintenance

    · Daily System Upkeep

    · Maintaining a safe work area/environment

    · Troubleshoot Basic electrical problems.

    · Overseeing and assisting with data processing and reporting efforts

    · Coordinating, and conducting field operations

    · Analyze objectives and specifications to prepare reports

    · Maintaining SAT systems and in good operating condition


    Physical Demands / Working Environment:


    · Frequently working on or near moving and vibrating equipment up to 50% of the time

    · Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 10 F degrees) temperatures

    · Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands

    · Ability to remain outdoors for long periods of time in various seasons and conditions

    · Work will take place around water; working on small vessels and barges off and near shore; including near or on moving and vibrating equipment

    · Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, walk and stand on uneven surfaces, ride, or work from a barge, pier, vessel, etc.

    · Ability to sit, stand, kneel, squat, push, pull, etc. for varying amounts of time

    · Ability to lift and carry 50 to 100 pounds for short distances

    · Ability to wear personal protective clothing and equipment including, but not limited to, respirators and fall protection

    · Workdays may consist of 12+ hours a day, including nights and weekends depending on project schedule needs

    · Requires the ability to travel to project assignments around the country on call

    Union Rates:


    · $25-$45per hour

  • Qualifications
    • Must have a valid Driver’s License with good driving history
    • Must be familiar with DoD satellite communications operations
    • Must be familiar with basic computer network operations
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
    • Must be able to climb and work at various heights on antenna structures
    • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather
    • Must be able to work in small spaces
    • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
    • Must be able to work autonomously with little supervision
    • Must have good oral & written communication skills
    • Knowledge of U.S. Navy CMS program preferred
    • Knowledge of U.S. Navy 3M program preferred
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
