    Job Description

    POSITION IS LOCATED IN WASHINGTON, DC

    The IAM National Pension Fund is conducting a search for an Assistant Manager for the Income Team in the Accounting Department. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for the management and oversight of the Income Group (Accounts Receivable Group).

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: (THE LISTING BELOW IS NOT MEANT TO INCLUDE ALL THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION, NOR DO ALL LISTED EXAMPLES INCLUDE ALL TASKS WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION.)

    • Effectively manage overall Income Team and ensure that tasks and projects are completed on time and that all standards are met
    • Oversees the daily processing of lockboxes, checks and wires/ACH
    • Receive, log and approve for deposit, all employer checks received at the BFO
    • Review and approve debit and credit entries
    • Review and approve retro rates billings
    • Review and approve transfer check requests
    • Review Break in Contribution Report
    • Review Reconciliation Report
    • Update, prepare and distribute monthly Escrow Report
    • Prepare necessary schedules for year-end audits and Form 5500
    • Research and respond to 401k participant inquiries via record-keeper and/or participants on a daily basis
    • Oversee delinquency processing in adherence with delinquency policy for Pension and 401k Funds
    • Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures; suggest methods to improve business operations and efficiency of Income Team
    • Track performance metrics. Routinely identify and develop new metrics
    • Hold team members accountable for individual and team responsibilities. Provide appropriate and timely constructive feedback and initiate progressive discipline when necessary

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or like field or combination of education and experience commensurate
    • 5+ years’ experience with Accounts Receivable
    • 5+ years’ management experience
    • Experience working with Retirement Plans a plus
