RMS will be performing Base Operation Support (BOS-1) to the United States Armed Forces in Kuwait, as part of the AFCAP IV Contract.
TITLE: HVAC Technician
SUMMARY
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance and trouble-shooting of industrial HVAC equipment such as boilers and chillers, light commercial units This job requires theoretically knowledge of air conditioning and the production of chilled water as well as practical mechanical and electrical understanding.
DUTIES:
Coordinate and perform inspections on HVAC systems and components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance
Perform installations of HVAC equipment and systems and monitors repairs on systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.)
Coordinates with HVAC Lead and/or Trade Shop Supervisor reference completing projects and work orders efficiently
Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs
Tracks performance of routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the availability of HVAC systems
Prepares written reports (work order status, activity logs, etc.) for documenting activities and/or conveying information
Requests equipment and supplies to maintain correct inventory amounts and ensure availability of items required to complete installations and/or repairs
Responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of HVAC apprenticeship
EXPERIENCE: Five years journey-level HVAC
SKILLS: Skill in use of hand and power tools common to trade. Ability to interpret and apply codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings. Knowledge of operation / installation of a variety of complete HVAC systems / equipment.
CERTIFICATE, LICENSE, REGISTRATION, ETC.: Valid US Drivers license & CFC/HFC certification
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Candidate must be able to meet contract requirements as determined by the satisfactory completion of reference and background checks, Government mandated physical/medical exam, drug screening, verification of identity, and obtaining necessary host residence or multiple-entry visa for the work destination.
