    Job Description

    ICA is seeking to hire a PASHTO LANGUAGE TEST DEVELOPER (Target Language Expert) for a pending Government project. This is an hourly employee position.

    PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: SPRING 2021 – DEPENDING ON GOVERNMENT AWARD 

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The TARGET LANGUAGE EXPERT (TLE) will collaborate with a team of ITEM WRITERS (IW) and Test Development Supervisors in finding / creating Target Language passages appropriate for items development for Test Materials Development project based on ILR proficiency scale

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Pashto Language Proficiency: native level
    • English Language Proficiency: ILR 3 (professional level)
    • Education: Target Country educated or Target Language Proficiency Certificate Equivalent to ILR4 or higher
    • Curriculum / Test development experience
    • Advantage: translator/interpreter experience

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The TARGET LANGUAGE EXPERT (TLE) shall

    • Confirm his / her work availability with the PM at the beginning of each month / week
    • Respect all the contract security and confidentiality stipulations
    • Participate in all mandatory training sessions pertaining to this contract __
    • Source test and audio passages in the format requested by the client (ILR proficiency scale), for test item development in Multiple-choice (MC) or Constructed Response (CTR) test format
    • Respect all the deadlines and Batch specific delivery schedules
    • Report any compromise (potential or actual) of any and all test material
    • Communicate transparently and timely with the PM about any conflict of interest, inability to deliver TL passages as scheduled, or change in work availability

    The TARGET LANGUAGE EXPERT (TLE) will:

    • Source authentic text and audio passages
    • Prepare all test deliverables including copyright forms, text and audio passages appropriate for each ILR level requested in the task order, English renderings, English transcribing (audio passages)
    • Conduct peer-review QC based on the client acceptance criteria
    • Review test items rejected by the client in collaboration with IWs and replace them within the 30 days from the feedback
    • Follow test materials storage and inventory procedures
