    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate Special Education & Student Support Programming
    • Monitor compliance of IEPs, 504s, Evaluations, and ELL programs and ensure service delivery is delivered with fidelity
    • Collaborate on determining the programming and supports for students with IEPs and support the professional development to ensure implementation of programming with fidelity
    • Manage related service and evaluation provision ensuring compliant and responsive timelines, programming, and reporting
    • Facilitate IEP meetings as the LEA Representative using a strengths based and family centered approach
    • Coordinating with the special education team to collect and report progress monitoring data
    • Manage and coach a cohort of Special Education teachers and related service providers
    • Liaise and engage with parents via trainings, meetings, and consultations.
    • Provide training and technical assistance to case managers, teachers, related service providers, and support service providers on all aspects of case management: use of computer systems for the special education process, writing of IEPs, progress monitoring, and parent communication
    • Review and respond to student support data sources including attendance, discipline, compliance monitoring, and progress monitoring

    Collaboration with the Assistant Principal of Student Supports

    • Ensure compliance by the school with all local and Federal laws and regulations relating to students with IEPs/504 plans and students referred to special education
    • Coordinating with the special education team to ensure all documents are completed in a timely manner (according to state, local, and school policies) prior to IEP or MDT meetings
    • Coordinate the evaluation and re-evaluation process with the School Psychologist
    • Support the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments/Positive Behavior Support Plans, Manifestation Determinations, ACCESS/WIDA, and other specialized supports along the continuum of services
    • Maintain LEA tracking & data systems to ensure school program organization
    • Coordination of the ESY program
    • Advocating for special education with school leadership
    • Support Child Find efforts in order to identify students who may qualify for special education services
    • Overseeing special education inventory of curricular materials and supplementary supplies, including EdTech

    • Support the implementation of proactive student discipline strategies
    • Build strong relationships with students and implement systems that develop their knowledge, skills, social-emotional development, and positive sense of self
    • Establish and maintain strong lines of communication with all fellow employees, parents and community partners
    • Lead and help execute school initiatives including but not limited to, annual planning for the coming year, implementation of new focus areas, and other duties as assigned by the School Leader

    • 3+ years of full-time special education teaching and case management experience in an urban setting, with a track record of success
    • 1+ years of experience as a Special Education Coordinator, Instructional Coach, or like position
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Hold Pennsylvania (or other state) teaching certification in Special Education
    • Willingness to work toward Pennsylvania leadership certification (if not currently held) preferred
    • Complete all required criminal and child abuse background checks:
      • PA State Police Clearance
      • PA Child Abuse Clearance
      • Cogent Federal Fingerprinting

    Additional Information

    Compensation

    • The salary range for this position starts at $78,000 and is commensurate with experience
