    Job Description – IOP Coordinator

    Cedar Recovery, LLC is an ASAM Level I and Level 2.1 outpatient treatment facility that employs an array of evidenced-based treatment modalities to provide an integrated model of care of medical, counseling, and therapeutic interventions to treat every patient’s individual needs and promote long-term sustainable recovery from substance use disorder(s). While Cedar Recovery provides care for all substance use disorders, it has a primary focus on treating opioid use disorder with medications such as Buprenorphine and/or Naltrexone (MAT).

    Cedar Recovery is seeking to hire a licensed therapist to serve the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The IOP lead therapist position is crucial to the success of Cedar’s mission of “Solving the Opioid Epidemic and Repairing the Communities we Serve” by offering a higher level of care to those who meet criteria and require more intervention than Level 1 provides or acting as a step-down level of care for patients exiting residential treatment.

    Overview

    The IOP Lead Therapist is expected to demonstrate expertise in: individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, advocacy, case management, substance abuse assessments, intakes, discharge/continuing care planning, and appropriate referrals. The therapist may also perform other related tasks that are a part of Cedar Recovery’s operation. The focus in this position requires knowledge of opioid addiction and direct practice in facilitating evidenced based treatment. Therapists are entrusted to maintain their expertise and continually gain knowledge via continuing education and training within the scope of opioid or substance abuse treatment.

    Responsibilities

    • Treat patients better than they expect to be treated.

    • Support the patient’s progress toward recovery goals, improved social determinants of health scores, and patient health outcomes.

    • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of medical providers and admin professionals to provide best-in-class care to our patients.

    • Supervise staff therapist(s) and group therapist(s) on staff.

      • This can include conducting internal chart audits, co-signing notes, ensuring compliance, developing clinical skills
    • Administer patient assessments as clinically indicated.

    • Orient patients to the treatment program’s policies and procedures.

    • Establish and build rapport with clients.

    • Conduct initial assessments and formulate individual plans of care. Includes activities related to managing and improving the care of the patient population across health, substance abuse and mental health treatment, and social service providers.

    • Establish SMART goals with each patient and monitor progress.

    • Maintain licensure/certification and complete required CEU’s.

    • Provide referrals outside of Cedar Recovery as clinically indicated.

    • Utilize evidence-based materials for curriculum (The Matrix Model)

    • Coordinate care with Cedar medical providers who are jointly enrolled in MAT program.

    • Appropriately and timely document all encounters, treatment plan reviews, and any other item requested by the compliance director or director of OBOT services.

    • Assist in completing any prior authorizations that require a clinical background.

    Qualifications

    • The minimum requirements for this position are a Master’s level degree individual and is licensed.

      • Educational background: Master’s or higher in social work, counseling, and/or related field of study

    Work Environment: This job operates in a professional treatment environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The clinician must also be available to respond to questions from their clinical team, as needed.

    Some employees may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Employees working virtually are expected to fulfill the same job functions as in the office, including carrying the same office hours and being able to communicate effectively and promptly in a virtual environment.

    Compensation: Competitive salary will be determined by experience and education.
