Job Summary
Radiologic Technologists work at doctors offices, hospitals, labs and imaging centers to operate X-ray, CT, mammogram, sonogram and MRI machines among other imaging equipment. Their role is to coach a patient through a scan and use computers to collect information about their health
Responsibilities
Assessing, evaluating, and testing patients
Preparing and positioning patients for imaging
Attending to patient needs during imaging procedures
Applying and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of radiation protection and safety practices
Independently performing or assisting a licensed practitioner in performing procedures such as mammograms, X-ray exams, MRIs, or administering radiation to cancer patients
Preparing, administering, and documenting activities related to medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and institutional policy
Qualifications
Associates degree
NJstate license
Required skills
Must be able to scrub and circulate at a high level,
have mastery level knowledge of IR, equipment, products, and fluoroscopy machines such as IVUS, Siemens, and Phillips.
Must have Product knowledge: wires, catheters, balloons, atherectomy, thrombectomy, etc. Basic understanding of coding, and experience with GE PACS, Cerner, and Radnet.
Must be able to scrub for Vascular and Neuro Procedures with proficient knowledge of mechanical thrombectomy and emergent stroke intervention.
Must have proficient knowledge and skills to perform endovascular procedures
