  • Responsibilities

    The Requirements Management Tools Administrator establishes and administers the DOORS process for developing and managing requirements; access control; and configuration control for multiple users of Missile Defense System requirements as depicted in the IBM Rational DOORS database, and their connectivity to the system-level architecture/Use Cases maintained in the IBM Rational System Architect tool. This individual will adhere to the Program Configuration Management Plan for the DOORS and System Architect tools, enabling multiple users to share the Technical Baseline data, while maintaining strict access control and data integrity. Duties include development or update of schema needed for multiple users, configuration control of requirement/architecture baseline products, generation of reports / artifacts from the tool, preparation of deliverables to customer, managing user access, conducting user training, documenting/updating process as well as procedural guides & checklists, supporting engineering design tasks; customizing the tool as needed, executing upgrades, and troubleshooting problems. Contributes to publishing change notices to the Missile Defense system specification and update of requirements databases, architectural models, interface definitions, and DoDAF 2+ compliant based design packages to document, allocate and trace BMD system and element level requirements.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Learn the highly customized setup of the SC&R DOORS Database Schema, which supports the generation of baseline specifications and change documents.
    • Apply proposed changes to the DOORS baseline or draft Modules and generate products for review.
    • Assist NT-E engineers who may be having difficulty proposing changes against the baseline using the tool and will help them troubleshoot any issues they may be experiencing.
    • Coordinate with the MDA two-letter DOORS administrators to exchange DOORS partition data to support traceability of the subsystems to the System Specification.
    • Create DOORS Projects, Modules, and Objects as necessary
    • Coordinate with the Tools Team lead and DXL developer to propose new custom scripts to assist them or the NT-E engineers using the system.

    Required Qualifications: Position requires a minimum of 10 years' experience using and maintaining system engineering tools and processes. Candidate must demonstrate administrator knowledge and hands-on experience using the IBM Rational DOORS toolset; and working knowledge of UML-based system modeling. The candidate must have good writing, organizing, and communication / collaboration skills. Experience with code manipulation using DXL, JavaScript, or VBA script usage within DOORS is required. Candidate must demonstrate ability to think critically and capture concepts in papers, presentations, and discussions. Individual must possess good communication skills. Capable of working both independently and within a small team environment.

    Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated experience working within a complex system-of-systems requirements environment for missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.) or other complex Department of Defense programs. Experience with systems engineering design and specification documentation is desired. Experience with IBM Rational System Architect tool or equivalent (No Magic Cameo) is a plus.

    • U.S. Citizenship with an active minimum Secret Clearance and potentially expectation of TS/SCI eligibility
