**This is an on-site 1099 Contract role payable at $28 per hour**
We are seeking a skilled IT Deskside Engineer to provide hands-on technical support for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of personal computers, peripherals, and software, ensuring seamless operation across our organization.
Under general direction, the IT Deskside Engineer will provide technical support for end-user devices, ensuring proper installation, repair, and maintenance of personal computers, peripherals, and software. This role involves configuring and upgrading hardware and software, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing preventative maintenance. The IT Deskside Engineer will also assist with office setups, relocations, and minimal data migrations, providing essential technical assistance to employees at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, set up, and perform routine preventative maintenance on personal computers and peripheral devices, including printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Conduct hardware and software upgrades as required.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of personal computers, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
- Experience in the installation, configuration, and upgrading of hardware and software applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Familiarity with diagnosing system failures and determining appropriate repair methods.
- Strong communication skills for providing technical information and support to users at all levels.
- Proficiency in maintaining detailed reports and logs of technical activities.
- May require lifting and moving computer equipment as part of setup and repair duties.
Educational and Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a technical support or deskside engineer role.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
Pay: $28 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm; (9/80) schedule, taking Friday off every other week
