We are currently seeking an **IT Generalist – Assessment & Authorization **to support the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and the position is fully onsite. In this role, you will ensure system security compliance by assessing risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and supporting Assessment & Authorization (A&A) efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify key stakeholders in assessment and authorization (A&A) efforts and ensure system documentation is up to date, including hardware, software, data flow, interconnections, and security configurations.
- Assess system configurations for potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Participate in A&A status meetings and support efforts to achieve successful system authorization.
- Estimate the effort required for A&A activities.
- Develop and implement test plans, reviewing self-assessment results to determine readiness for independent validation and verification (IV&V).
- Help program offices interpret and apply cybersecurity mitigation strategies.
- Conduct IV&V assessments, ensuring test results comply with Federal cybersecurity requirements.
- Review vulnerabilities, system architecture, and defense strategies, documenting findings in plan of action & milestones (POA&Ms).
- Document and analyze residual cybersecurity risks, providing mitigation recommendations.
- Create risk assessment reports detailing initial and residual risks.
- Maintain cybersecurity policies and processes as assigned.
- Apply Federal cybersecurity guidelines to meet customer needs.
- Report system security status using designated reporting methods.
- Collaborate with team members on cybersecurity initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This is a full time, salaried, exempt position.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
- Experience in Assessment & Authorization efforts
- The incumbent of this position will be subject to a background investigation and will be required to maintain a government granted security clearance.
