Job Summary: The IT Generalist Manager oversees a team of IT professionals responsible for managing a wide range of IT systems, software applications, hardware, and networks. The IT Generalist Manager collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure that IT solutions meet organizational needs and objectives.
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and supervise the IT support team, ensuring excellent performance and professional growth.
Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and prioritize activities to ensure effective IT operations.
Provide leadership to resolve IT challenges and deliver high-quality support to all business stakeholders.
IT Systems and Infrastructure Support:
Oversee the maintenance and optimization of software, hardware, and network systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across a variety of IT systems, ensuring timely escalation for complex problems.
Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to improve reliability and efficiency.
Vendor and Third-Party Management:
Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and third-party software providers to ensure prompt resolution of issues and support escalations.
Evaluate contracts, SLAs, and service offerings to align with business needs and budgets.
System Administration and Optimization:
Ensure that IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud-based applications, are secure, updated, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, or upgrades to improve IT capabilities and performance.
IT Security and Compliance:
Monitor IT infrastructure for vulnerabilities and oversee the implementation of security patches, updates, and best practices.
Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and external regulatory requirements.
Implement disaster recovery plans and system backups to ensure business continuity.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Prepare regular reports on IT performance, incident resolution metrics, and project statuses.
End-User Training and Support:
Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users on IT systems, tools, and security protocols.
Provide direct support to end-users to resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
Project Management:
Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, software deployments, and infrastructure installations, from planning to execution.
Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful implementation.
