    Job Description:

    The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the technology infrastructure within the elementary school. This role includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing technical support to staff and students, and ensuring the smooth operation of classroom technology.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support for computers, tablets, interactive whiteboards, printers, projectors, and other school-related technology.
    • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software applications used by students and staff.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and wired networks.
    • Assist in managing student and staff accounts, ensuring proper access and security.
    • Train teachers and staff on the use of educational software, classroom technology, and cybersecurity best practices.
    • Perform routine maintenance and updates on school technology equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with data privacy policies and school IT security standards.
    • Support the setup and maintenance of school communication systems, such as email, announcements, and emergency notifications.
    • Collaborate with external vendors for purchasing, repairs, and system upgrades.
    • Maintain an inventory of school technology assets and provide recommendations for future upgrades.
    • Provide on-site support for technology used in classrooms, meetings, and school events.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in an IT support role, preferably in an educational setting.
    • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS) and common educational software.
    • Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based applications.
    • Understanding of basic networking principles, including Wi-Fi troubleshooting and security protocols.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
    • Patience and a customer-service mindset to support teachers, students, and staff effectively.
    • Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.

    Work Environment: This position will be based within the elementary school and requires interaction with students, teachers, and administrative staff. .
