    Remote with occasional onsite collaboration in Indianapolis, IN (46225)

    We are seeking three IT Systems Engineers to support an ongoing project aimed at cleaning and hardening our customer's overall Active Directory (AD) environment. This role is crucial in ensuring a secure, optimized, and resilient AD infrastructure.

    The work can primarily be done remotely; however, candidates must be within commuting distance to Indianapolis, IN (46225), as periodic onsite collaboration is required. Additionally, there will be some expansion into Azure, so prior experience with Azure AD, cloud security, and hybrid identity management is highly desirable.

    This project is expected to last 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in cleaning, hardening, and optimizing the customer’s Active Directory environment to enhance security and performance.
    • Conduct Active Directory audits, implement best practices, and remediate vulnerabilities.
    • Configure and manage Group Policies, access controls, and identity governance.
    • Collaborate on Azure AD expansion, ensuring seamless integration with on-premises infrastructure.
    • Implement security measures, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access policies, and role-based access control (RBAC).
    • Troubleshoot authentication, replication, and synchronization issues between on-prem AD and Azure AD.
    • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell or similar tools to improve operational efficiency.
    • Work closely with the customer’s IT team to ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards.
    • Provide documentation and training as needed to support knowledge transfer.
    • Occasionally travel to the customer's site in Indianapolis, IN (46225) for in-person collaboration.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Experience: 3+ years in IT systems engineering, with a focus on Active Directory administration and security.
    • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, AD DS, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
    • Hands-on experience with Azure AD, hybrid identity solutions, and cloud security best practices.
    • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management.
    • Understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
    • Experience implementing security hardening measures in AD environments.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced project environment.
    • Location Requirement: Must be within commuting distance to Indianapolis, IN (46225) for occasional onsite work.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate, or CISSP.
    • Familiarity with Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, and Intune.

       

    Pay: $40.00 per hour

    Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Mon-Friday)
