Expectations and Qualifications
3+ years of landscaping experience, with prior experience in ecological field work, and/or horticulture strongly preferred
Knowledge of plants with desire to continually learn, extensive knowledge preferred
Being a team player, maintaining a positive attitude and ability to clearly communicate with clients and team members is a must.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment in a variety of weather conditions.
Enthusiasm for ecology and ecosystem processes.
Mastery level experience with power tools (leaf blower, weed whip, chainsaw and hedgers).
Experience and relevant certification for operating heavy equipment (dingo, skidsteer, excavators).
Mastery level experience driving truck and trailer is required; we may test skill level in final phase of interviews
Strong communication skills and ability to work well independently and in a team

Attention to detail, mindfulness of safety procedures and following and implementing instructions
Specific tasks may include but are not limited to:
Report to both MOG Partner/Creative Director and team leader.
General Maintenance: Hand weeding & weed whipping, pruning, edging, mulching, watering; applying organic fertilization, organic herbicide and natural pest control ++
Landscape or Habitat Restoration & Installation: Planting trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, grass or prairie seed; invasive plant removal, creating rock borders, installing weed fabric, spreading compost; drainage, rainwater harvesting ++
Hardscapes: Construction of rock or paver walkways, walls, stairs and patios; arbors, fences, water features, LED Lighting ++.
Interacting with clients and updating them throughout the span of project & beyond and upholding MOG’s level of service.
Self managing daily activities + engaging in personal and team accountability within a 1 - 4 person crew on various projects.
Mentoring and instructing other crew members. Promoting a safe work environment. Always leading by example.
Tracking and reporting material, equipment and labor used on projects. Responsible accounting for purchases made on company card.
Other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
No Mowing or Snow Removal
Job Types: Full-time Pay rate: Ranges from $25-$30. Based on experience
Schedule: Average 7-8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday. Start time depends on the clients’ needs, weather, material delivery, team and/or Lead’s or Partner’s determination etc. Some Saturdays may be needed if rainouts during Spring & Fall Seasons or to finish urgent project. Ability to commit more hours during our busy season.
Required: Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to drive to and from work and various locations. Having a work truck or van is advantageous for consideration of higher pay and/or additional travel stipends Must pass Drug Test (for illegal substances) and Background Check
