JOB SUMMARY:

The OD/ID Grinder will set up and operate various OD and ID cylindrical grinding machines.

**Responsibilities will include **

-Loading workpieces into grinding machines

-Perform specific grinding operations

-Will have to compute numbers, widths, and angles of cutting tools, micrometers, scales, and gauges, and adjust tools to produce specified cuts.

-Finish surfaces of workpieces, using prescribed equipment, grinding wheels, and hand tools.

-One will be responsible for Inspecting and measuring workpieces to ensure that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications. They will monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary; stop machines when problems occur. Will have to select and mount grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures. Set up and operate grinding or polishing machines to grind metal parts, tools, or workpieces. Study blueprints or layouts of metal workpieces to determine grinding procedures, and to plan machine setups and operational sequences.
