    We are seeking a dynamic and organized Community-Based Event Coordinator with strong project management skills to join our team and drive our community initiatives.

    Position Summary

    The Community-Based Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing community events and programs that align with our mission. This role requires excellent project management skills to ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the organization's objectives. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver with a passion for community engagement and experience in event planning and project management.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Event Planning and Coordination

      • Plan, organize, and execute community-based events and programs.

      • Coordinate logistics including venue selection, vendor management, equipment rental, and transportation.

      • Develop and manage event timelines to ensure all aspects of the event are completed on schedule.

    • Project Management

      • Create detailed project plans for each event, outlining tasks, deadlines, and responsible parties.

      • Monitor project progress, address issues, and adjust plans as needed to ensure successful event execution.

      • Manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and stay within allocated funds.

    • Community Engagement

      • Work closely with community members, leaders, and organizations to identify event opportunities and gather feedback.

      • Promote events through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and community outreach.

      • Foster relationships with community stakeholders to build support for events and programs.

    • Volunteer Coordination

      • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support event execution.

      • Assign tasks to volunteers and ensure they are properly equipped and informed.

      • Recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions to enhance their engagement and retention.

    • Evaluation and Reporting

      • Collect and analyze event feedback from participants, volunteers, and stakeholders.

      • Prepare post-event reports summarizing outcomes, successes, and areas for improvement.

      • Use evaluation data to inform future event planning and organizational strategies.

    Qualifications
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning and project management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups.

    • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events.

    • Passion for community service and commitment to the mission of North Star Community Partners.
