    Job Description

    The Mental Health Coordinator II (MHCII) is responsible to coordinate a variety of services including but not limited to individual finances, activities, program services, positive behavioral support needs, family involvement, education/vocational programs, health care/nutrition and household management. The Mental Health Coordinator II (MHCII) is also responsible for staff scheduling. The MHCII is responsible to assist the supervisor in maintaining consistency in programming, individual care, and communication with staff and support team members. The MHCII is also responsible to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the behavioral support staff during all direct care shifts.

    The Mental Health Coordinator II (MHCII) is a specific position assigned only to specific locations. The position and its corresponding wage is not transferable when working at other locations. This position is dependent on specialized funding of specific individuals served. If the person served transfers, is discharged or the funding is eliminated, the position and wage will be eliminated from the designated locations.

    Qualifications

    • Three years’ experience in delivery of significant behavioral health services.
    • A minimum of one-year of lead staff experience in residential services or a two-year degree in a related field.
    • Need the ability to understand and implement behavior support plans, treatment plans, functional assessments, individualized support plans, and person-centered plans.
    • Must be able to demonstrate de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, positive support methods and person-centered approach with person served who may present significant mental health symptoms, physical and verbal aggression, property destruction, chemical dependence, brain injury and cognitive impairments
    • Must have a high school diploma or GED Certificate, basic computer skills, and a minimum of two years’ experience in the delivery of behavioral health services.
