    Job Description

    The In Room Dining Server sells, delivers and accounts for products from the In-Room Dining department in a manner consistent with Fairmont standards. The Server assists with food deliveries, amenity deliveries, follows and manages Fairmont recipes, preparation and presentation guidelines; and provides food and beverage services in a cost-efficient manner. The Server ensures compliance with all liquor laws. These tasks are handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction. The IRD Server must ultimately uphold the values and mission statement of the Company while performing positional responsibilities and adhering to operational standards.

    • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
    • Provide the highest quality service to all guests at all times, by instilling the company philosophy.
    • Set up, break down and reset the In-Room Dining service station
    • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer the phones using appropriate etiquette in accordance with company standards
    • Deliver proper, efficient and friendly service to our guests in their rooms, pool deck, and other assigned hotel spaces
    • Deliver orders, requests, and amenities in a timely manner to the correct rooms.
    • Correctly set up trays and carts to be delivered according to the guests’ requests
    • Engage and genuinely interact with guests while anticipating their needs
    • Explain food and beverage items in detail to our guests
    • Pick up and remove dirty trays and tray tables from guest rooms and guest floors
    • Follow all hotel standards, LQA standards, and Forbes 5 Stars standards while conducting self-audits to ensure 100% compliance on all interactions with guests.
    • Participate actively in the resolution of guest concerns.
    • Complete any necessary opening and closing paperwork and side work duties as required
    • Complete inventory and requisition forms
    • Control costs and waste
    • Work well with others as a team
    • Prepare food and beverage as per guidelines
    • Follow cash handling policies and procedures
    • Assist in filling in at other F&B areas and/or outlets as needed
    • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
    • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year experience in upscale food and beverage environment, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining institution

    • Possess a proven track record for guest satisfaction

    • Possess a strong sense of urgency

    • Display a pleasant and cheerful disposition

    • Maintain a high level of integrity

    • Display a confident and professional appearance at all times and always meet company grooming standards

    • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

    • Adapt in difficult situations with problem-solving abilities, and make decisions when necessary

    • Show eagerness and capacity to learn

    • Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Speak, write and read English at an advanced level

    • Clearly and concisely communicate ideas to others

    • Basic math – adding, subtracting, division

    • Cash handling experience

    • Communication skills are critical. Must be able to communicate clearly and listen attentively to Management, other employees and guests.

    • Able to use good judgment where guests and employees are concerned

    • Must be able to obtain Food Handler Certification

    • Must be able to obtain TIPs or Alcohol Safety Certification
