    You may have also acquired the following skills:

    • Experienced in production welding and brazing.

    • Experienced in dimensional and visual inspection as well as NDE qualified as Liquid Penetrant and/or Radiography.

    • Experienced in setting up equipment such as welding machines, braze machines, ovens and other process equipment.

    • Works well with team, customers and vendors to resolve issues, improve processes and ensure quality.

    • Ability to communicate processes, written or verbally, for the purpose of training or instruction.

As an Incore Detector Manufacturing Technician in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Incore Manufacturing Business Line in the Instrumentation and Controls Business Unit. Your work will include:

    • Complex assembly, welding, brazing, connector attachment, cleaning, and fabrication operations on in-core components, as well as setting up these machines for operation.
    • Perform complex dimensional, visual, electrical, and NDE inspections on in-core components, based on drawings and specifications, or work instructions that are written or verbal.
    • Training less experienced employees and interfacing with outside customers or vendors.
    • Development of processes or work instructions (SWIs), calibration of equipment and/or developing calibration procedures.
    • You will be part of team that values a safe and healthy workplace and complies with all applicable safety and health rules.

    Your Total Rewards Package

    The range of base salary for the position is between $24.00 - $30.77 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.

  • Qualifications
    • Reads, interprets and understands blueprints and operation sheets.
    • Performs functions to set up and operate standard types of machines to complete single or progressive operations on standard parts. Machines could include lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, hobs, hones, kummers, burnishers or balancers
    • Maybe required to assists less experience machinists.
    • Must have working knowledge of shop math, be able to read blueprints, and understand operation sheets.
    • Must be capable of using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
