Job Summary
We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will communicate with our customers, process orders received via telephone and/or email, write their orders up or by entering them into the computer. Edit orders received for completeness, including pricing, discounts, delivery, and quantity, nomenclatures, and all other pertinent data to identify their needs, process requests, escalate complaints, and provide helpful solutions that ensure they have a great customer service experience with our company. The ideal candidate is friendly, computer savvy, and can remain calm under pressure.
Responsibilities
Handling inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
Emphasize salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
Use best practices in customer service techniques to develop rapport and build relationships with customers.
When needed, assist in preparing sales invoices, orders, and shipping documents.
Recommend type of packaging or labeling needed for orders. Places "spot" purchase orders for required products.
Assist with warehouse duties when needed.
Places purchase orders with our suppliers. Match supplier acknowledgements and customer's confirmation to AFS copy within 24 hours of receipt.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED.
Previous experience as a Customer Service Representative or in a similar role is preferred.
Comfortable using computers and customer management software.
Excellent phone and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of active listening techniques.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize projects and manage time effectively.
