ALCO Designs is seeking a dedicated, talented, and creative Industrial Designer to elevate our exceptional range of merchandising display products. Join us in designing innovative, functional, and high-quality displays that serve supermarket stores and beyond.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design Creation: Develop innovative and functional designs for merchandising displays tailored to supermarket stores and other retail environments.
Technical Specifications: Ensure all designs meet technical specifications and production requirements.
Creative Techniques: Apply creative design techniques to craft unique, eye-catching, and practical displays.
Material Research: Explore and incorporate new materials and trends into designs to enhance product quality and innovation.
Industry Insights: Stay informed about industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to inform design strategies.
Idea Development: Bring fresh ideas and creative solutions to the design process.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales team to develop custom product solutions for specific customer requests.
Manufacturing Partnership: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design concepts are practical and cost-effective.
Evaluation: Assess product safety, appearance, and functionality to confirm design viability.
Prototyping: Create models, patterns, or templates to support product development.
Project Management: Oversee assigned projects, including special assignments, from concept to completion.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience: 2-4 years in industrial design, preferably in the grocery, floral, or related industries.
Software Proficiency: Expertise in Adobe Illustrator is essential; familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks is preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of cut-and-sew and no-sew techniques.
Product Development: Ability to design and develop products from concept through production.
Technical Packages: Experience in creating detailed technical packages for factories, including specifications, patterns, and assembly instructions.
Attention to Detail: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective team communication.
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
