    Founded in 1992, InServ is a full-service industrial contractor working in the life science, advanced manufacturing, and food and beverage industries. We specialize in four trades (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation, hygienic piping, and HVAC), working from multiple locations across North Carolina, and for clients across the Southeast.     Major Duties and Responsibilities

    • Install new or modified electrical installations consistent with local and national codes.
    • Installs or replaces necessary interior and exterior wiring for equipment, appliances and lighting.
    • Installs electrical systems for lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
    • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit. EMT, GRC, IMC OR PVC
    • Follow diagrams, blueprints and interrupt specifications.
    • Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of equipment and tools.
    • Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Technical training in electrical systems; and/OR, (4 TO 6) years of experience as an electrician ; which includes duties and responsibilities.

    Knowledge of:

    • tools, materials, methods and techniques associated with electrical trade.
    • relevant electrical codes.
    • safety rules and regulations.
    • hazards associated with the work.

    Ability to:

    • perform all phases of electrical work.
    • diagnose and troubleshoot defects in all electrical systems and equipment and perform needed repairs.
    • read, understand, and follow safety rules and regulations.
    • perform strenuous physical work.
    • read, interpret and work form a variety of blueprints, drawings, one-line diagrams, sketches, and work orders.
    • proficiently run EMT and RIGID of all sizes from ¾” to 4”.
    • bend offsets, saddles, 90’s and kick with both hand and hydraulic benders.
    • install and terminate panels, switch gears and disconnects.
    • set-up and pull wire-properly numbering the circuits and colors of phases.
    • install a variety of light fixtures.
    • run cable tray and bus duct.
    • physically be able to climb ladders and work on your feet 8 to 12 hours per day.
    • physically be able to lift 50 lbs.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or Trade School Certificate in Electrical Wiring or comparable experience required.
    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a journeyman in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures using blueprints, schematics and sketches.
    • Experience using hand tools, small power tools, large power tools (threaders, benders, etc.).
    • Experience studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installations procedures.
    • Experience reading contract drawings.
    • Experience installing and mounting electronic controls, device panels, sensors, and components.
    • Experience installing, assembling, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with electrical equipment following drawings of electrical layouts and building plans.
    • Experience performing work at various heights, up to 90 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks or other safe work areas.
    • Ability to perform interlock wiring as required.
    • Experience testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices.
    • Ability to appropriately diagnose malfunctions in systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and take appropriate steps to correct the problem.
    • Ability to instruct and train workers to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
    • Has a clear understanding of the latest edition of the NEC.
