    Industrial Groundwater Treatment Facility Operator

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspect and monitor equipment, meters, and gauges to assess the operational status of the water treatment system.

    • Collect and test water and wastewater samples using field testing equipment and color analysis standards.

    • Record and compile operational data into routine reports, logs, and spreadsheets, either manually or electronically.

    • Operate and adjust equipment controls to treat wastewater, targeting both inorganic and organic constituents.

    • Perform maintenance, repairs, and lubrication of equipment using hand tools and power tools.

    • Clean and maintain tanks, filter beds, process conveyance lines, pumps, and other work areas utilizing hand tools, power tools, and mobile equipment.

    • Coordinate and oversee plant workers involved in routine operations and maintenance tasks.

    • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical systems and controls, ranging from 12-volt DC to 480-volt AC.

    • Assist with all aspects of operation, maintenance, and monitoring of industrial wastewater treatment facilities.

    Key Knowledge Areas:

    • Practical operational and maintenance knowledge of various equipment, including air monitoring tools (PID), granular activated carbon and multimedia filtration systems, centrifugal and chemical feed pumps, air-operated diaphragm pumps, and colorimeters (HACH) for field screening.

    • Proficiency in using conductivity, dissolved oxygen, pH, and ORP meters and analyzers.

    • Familiarity with power supply system operations and basic troubleshooting.

    • Ability to interpret design, as-built, and P&ID diagrams.

    • General understanding of SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems.

    • Proficiency with desktop computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • While an N-license in industrial wastewater treatment is not required, it is highly preferred.

    • Ideal candidates should have strong mechanical skills and experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, or building maintenance.
