SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental and industrial hygiene assessments, identifying hazards and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineers, environmental planners, and public health officials to develop comprehensive health and safety plans.
- Perform site inspections to evaluate air quality, hazardous materials, and workplace safety conditions.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to document assessments and ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Provide technical expertise for determination memorandums and appeals related to industrial hygiene issues.
- Develop and deliver training programs to promote occupational safety and health best practices.
- Stay updated on FEMA training requirements and advancements in industrial hygiene methodologies.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Certification:
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
- Proficiency in industrial hygiene software and analysis tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations, disaster recovery operations, and hazardous materials management.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
