In this role, you will combine welding expertise with maintenance troubleshooting and repair, ensuring that equipment and infrastructure are maintained safely and efficiently. You will work closely with the maintenance team, performing both scheduled and emergency repairs while adhering to safety and quality standards.
* Perform welding, fabrication, and repair tasks on structures, piping, and support components using TIG, MIG, and stick welding processes.
* Fabricate and repair stainless steel and ferrous piping systems in both controlled and field environments.
* Assist in diagnosing malfunctions and perform repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
* Carry out preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on industrial machinery and support equipment (e.g., pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, valves).
* Support maintenance supervisors and team leads by coordinating repair activities and following established maintenance schedules.
* Provide guidance and assistance to team members during complex repairs.
* Complete work orders and document maintenance activities accurately using the facility’s maintenance management system.
* Monitor and maintain inventory of repair parts, tools, and equipment.
* Adhere to safety protocols and environmental standards while executing maintenance tasks.
* Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment, and participate in safety training and assessments.
* Respond to emergency maintenance calls, working flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
* Proven experience in welding maintenance and industrial repair in a manufacturing setting.
* Proficient in TIG, MIG, and stick welding; certification by the American Welding Society is a plus.
* Ability to fabricate and repair stainless steel and ferrous piping systems.
* Strong troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
* Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, for documentation and communication.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and outdoor environments.
* Capable of standing, walking, and performing manual tasks for extended periods.
* High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training in welding or fabrication is preferred.
* Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts for emergency repairs.
Standard work schedule: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) with overtime potential.
On-call responsibilities for emergency repairs during nights and weekends.
Work may involve confined spaces, elevated work areas, and outdoor conditions.
