Summary
The Industrial Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vacuum trucks and associated equipment to clean, transport, and dispose of liquid and solid waste materials. The role involves adherence to safety standards and protocols, routine maintenance of the equipment, and effective communication with team members and supervisors. The operator will work in industrial environments that may involve hazardous conditions and will be required to follow safety procedures at all times.
Duties/Responsibilities
Qualifications
Operate Vacuum Truck : * Safely drive and operate vacuum trucks to clean tanks, vessels, pits, and other confined spaces at industrial sites. * Use high-powered vacuum hoses to remove liquids, sludge, and debris.
Material Handling : * Load, transport, and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in compliance with environmental regulations. * Handle various types of waste, including liquid, semi-solid, and solid materials.
Safety and Compliance : * Strictly adhere to safety guidelines, wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and following procedures to prevent spills, accidents, or exposure to hazardous materials. * Maintain an understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations.
Routine Equipment Maintenance : * Perform routine inspections of the truck, hoses, and other equipment to ensure proper operation. * Identify any potential mechanical issues, perform minor repairs, or report to the maintenance team for more significant repairs.
Documentation and Reporting : * Accurately log and report job activities, including material volumes, work performed, and any incidents or irregularities. * Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and submit necessary paperwork according to company and regulatory requirements.
Team Collaboration : * Work closely with team members, supervisors, and site personnel to ensure efficient job execution. * Provide support during other industrial service operations as required.
