Sonnets Academy is seeking an experienced full time Lead Teacher to join our Infant Program.
Our Lead Teacher is responsible for creating their own curriculum lessons in alignment with our developmental curricular goals and fostering open communication with parents, consistently about progress, schedules, and individual achievement. This position works in collaboration with the Director, Education Coordinator and the other members of the Junior Preschool Program. You’ll help provide a structured classroom environment with clear expectations, play-based curriculum and a social-emotional focus.

Full Time Position
$51,000 - $56,000 per year Salary dependent on experience and level of education.
Scheduled Work Hours:
7:15-4:15 with an hour long lunch break.
After a 90 day probationary period and once your classroom team is set and established, your classroom hours will be 7:15-3:00 depending on when your assigned classroom opens for the day.
Once a week, you will have an hour from 3:00-4:00 for "office hours"/scheduled parent calls
Once a week, you will have a 30-minute meeting with other leads, administration, or your age group team.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to foster a play based and structured environment
Maintain a safe, organized classroom that supports each child’s independent learning
Assess and report using curricular checklists, anecdotal notes and narratives throughout the year that effectively and accurately communicates the child’s progress
Meet the needs of the whole child and support the social and emotional growth of all children
Supervise, mentor and instruct Associate Teacher and Assistant Teacher for the purpose of providing an effective and efficient classroom environment and addressing the needs of individual students
Attend and participate in age group team collaborative meetings, whole staff meetings, classroom team meetings and cross age group team meetings
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related area
Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infants
Experience creating own curriculum / lesson plans
Must be a team player and eager to work with others
Excellent organization skills
Positive and proactive communication skills
Two or more years of professional experience in an infant classroom
Must meet and follow all City and State licensing requirements
