The Infant Teacher role is an integral part to the Teaching Team reporting to the School Director. We are looking for someone with a passion for working with infants with a clear focus on helping to grow and make the business successful.
Experience/Education
Must meet requirements of local child-care regulatory agency and Children’s Lighthouse of Oak Forest
At least two years’ work experience in a licensed child-care facility, kindergarten or early childhood program preferred.
Experience in teaching infants.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
Duties and Skills
Implements Children’s Lighthouse policies, procedures and systems to ensure safe, healthy environment in compliance with state standards at all times.
Represents Children’s Lighthouse to the community, parents, visitors and staff with professionalism and integrity.
Consistently follows through with all duties and miscellaneous duties as assigned in competent and timely manner.
Able to work flexible hours.
Ability to communicate with, motivate others, analyze and solve problems, fostering a positive work environment.
Knowledge of state and local standards.
Knowledge of early child development and appropriate practices.
Observes all rules and regulations at Children’s Lighthouse of Oak Forest and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
Assumes responsibility to manage lesson plan implementation and organization of the classroom.
Knowledge of and adheres to employment laws and compliance issues related to those laws.
Assists in keeping school physically well kept, attractive, and safe.
Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the School, including, but not limited to, other leadership team positions, teacher, food service teacher, and bus driver.
Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary
