    Infant Teacher Job Description

    An Infant Teacher provides nurturing care and a stimulating environment for infants, supporting their physical, emotional, and developmental needs. This role involves creating a safe, clean, and engaging classroom atmosphere where babies can explore, grow, and thrive.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide attentive and loving care to infants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

    Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote sensory exploration, motor skills, and cognitive development.

    Follow established routines for feeding, diaper changes, naps, and playtime to create a predictable environment.

    Adhere to California Department of Social Services (CDSS) regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance with all licensing requirements.

    Communicate daily with parents, providing updates on their child’s activities, milestones, and any concerns.

    Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized classroom space, adhering to health and safety regulations.

    Observe and document each child’s development and milestones, sharing insights with parents and colleagues.

    Foster positive interactions, supporting infants’ social-emotional development and encouraging secure attachments.

    Collaborate with co-teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.

    Qualifications:

    A minimum of 6 college units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is required.

    Experience working with infants in a childcare or early education setting.

    Familiarity with CDSS regulations and early childhood development principles.

    Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with babies.

    Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

    CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
