    Job Description

    ** What you will do in this role** :

    • You will work closely with our DON to develop & implement the infection control program (ICP) in accordance with current IDPH regulations for our setting.
    • You will ensure compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations to provide staff education and training as needed.
    • You will need to perform Infection (ICP) Surveillance; tracking & trending and developing action plans accordingly.
    • You will lead the weekly Infection Control QAPI meetings and routinely monitor antibiotics usage & physician prescribing practices.
    • It’s a big job in a busy center!

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Infection Control (Registered Nurse RN): officially we title this job an Infection Preventionist, but in other centers it may be called a Safety & Infectious Disease RN, Infection Control (ICP) Coordinator or an Infection Prevention (ICP) Nurse.

    What we need from you :

    • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in IL
    • The a-IPC EPI (101 and 102 for LTC), or CIC (Certification in Infection Prevention and Control) is ideal. But we will also consider applicants with a current (or willing to obtain the) CDC infection Prevention Training Course.
    • Prior nursing care in a SNF or ICF setting preferred
    • Must have experience with PCC electronic documentation system
