    Job Description

    Reporting to the Sales Director, the Business Development Executive will play a key role in prospecting, renewals, and account management for the Greenbuild International Conference + Expo, a year-round resource for sustainability in buildings, cities, and communities. This includes an annual in-person conference and expo, as well as year-round digital education, events, and products.

    Responsibilities:

    • Sales Activities: * Aggressively sell exhibit booth space to new and renewing customers within an assigned territory. * Occasionally sell digital products and sponsorships. * Conduct sales via telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings. * Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve revenue goals, independently and with the Sales Director. * Research new markets and trends to generate sales ideas.

    • Prospecting: * Identify new business opportunities through various sources, including industry publications, websites, social media, and competitive shows.

    • Client Management: * Provide accurate sales projections, pipelines, and forecasts. * Maintain and update sales databases. * Ensure high call volume to meet daily targets. * Collaborate with Operations to fulfill sponsorship agreements. * Work with Marketing to create effective sales messages and promotions. * Develop strong customer relationships and provide continuous service to clients.

    • Team Collaboration: * Function as an integral part of the overall show team, performing additional duties as required. * Travel to in-person events, client meetings, and competitive events as necessary.

    Requirements:

    • Strong prospecting skills via internet, social media, and competitive shows.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Charismatic and energetic, with a passion for sustainability.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • At least two years of sales experience in a B2B environment, preferably in tradeshows and/or digital marketing services.
    • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask effectively.
    • Proficient in standard computer software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Salesforce experience is a plus.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
    • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset, capable of working seamlessly with exhibitors and internal teams.
    • Self-motivated, goal-driven, and quick to learn.
    • Exceptional customer service skills.
    • Salary range: $50,000 to $60,000 base, plus commission.
